ITINERARY

Departure from Huaraz at about 3.00 to 3:30 am, towards the province of Carhuaz from which we will turn off to enter the beautiful valley of Ulta and climb to reach Punta Olimpica, where the highest tunnel in the world at 4700 m. is located. After a short rest we will get our equipment ready to leave towards the summit of Mateo at 5100 m. high, from where you can see the highest peaks of Peru, such as Huascaran Sur, Chopicalqui, Ulta, among others. After a reasonable time we will return to our transport and return to Huaraz in the afternoon.

RECOMMENDATIONS: The ascent to the snowy peak mateo of 5100 meters of height requires some experience in trekking, so it is very indicated for people that already some ves to echo this activity, since the climbing requires a walk of an hour and a half in the morainic part and another hour more in glacier and ice part, on the other hand, it is necessary to load the climbing equipment (grampon, shoe, harness piolet and helmet) for that reason to bring a backpack a little big 40, liters of preference. The weight to carry is 5 kg approx.
