SERVICE DESCRIPTION
DON’T INCLUDE:
After an early breakfast at your hotel in Huaraz, you’ll embark on a 3-hour private drive through the Callejón de Huaylas to the Llanganuco Valley. Stop at the turquoise Llanganuco Lakes for photos before continuing to the trailhead. Hike 3–4 hours to Base Camp (4,350m), set up camp, and enjoy lunch. Rest and attend an evening briefing on the climb while soaking in views of Huascarán and Huandoy peaks.
Depart Base Camp after breakfast for a 5–6 hour hike over rocky moraines and glacial debris to Moraine Camp (5,000m). Set up camp, practice glacier techniques (rope travel, crampons), and prepare for the summit push. Enjoy early dinner and rest with panoramic views of the Chopicalqui Glacier.
Begin at
1:00 AM with a light breakfast. Traverse the glacier, navigating crevasses and
slopes (40°–50°), for a 6–8 hour ascent to the summit. Celebrate at 6,354m with
360° views of Huascarán, Chacraraju, and the Santa Cruz Valley. Descend to
Moraine Camp (3–4 hours), pack gear, and return to Base Camp (2–3 hours) for a
celebratory dinner.
After breakfast, hike 3 hours back to the road. Private transport returns you to Huaraz by 4:00 PM, concluding the expedition.
