Detailed Day-wise Itinerary

Day-1 : Day 1: HUARAZ – DRIVE TO LLANGANUCO VALLEY – MORAINE CAMP (4,900M)

  • After breakfast, your guide will pick you up from your hotel in Huaraz at 7:00 AM.
  • Scenic 3-hour drive through the Callejón de Huaylas to the Llanganuco Valley.
  • Stop at the turquoise Llanganuco Lakes (Chinancocha and Orconcocha) for photos.
  • Continue to the trailhead near the lake and begin a 2-hour hike to the Moraine Camp (4,900m).
  • Set up camp, enjoy lunch, and attend a briefing on glacier techniques (use of crampons, ice axes, and ropes).
  • Dinner and rest early to prepare for summit day.

Day-2 : Day 2: MORAINE CAMP – YANAPACCHA SUMMIT (5,460M) – RETURN TO HUARAZ

  • Alpine start at 2:00 AM with a light breakfast.
  • Begin the ascent over rocky moraine for 1 hour to reach the glacier.
  • Rope up and start the 4–5-hour climb on the glacier. Navigate moderate slopes (40°–45°) and crevasses.
  • Reach the summit (5,460m) at sunrise for panoramic views of Huascarán, Chopicalqui, Chacraraju, and the Santa Cruz Valley.
  • Descend to the Moraine Camp (3–4 hours), pack gear, and hike back to the road.
  • Private transport returns you to Huaraz by 5:00 PM.
